How To Get Your School Transcript From Nigerian Universities

It can be pretty difficult to get your school to send your academic transcript to a another school in another country.

This is quiet frustrating if your admission is dependent on this academic papers. Some had to forget their American or European dream because of this issue.

So how do you go about it? Here is the different steps to get your transcript in different Nigerian Universities.

– In ABU the send it directly to the address you give them both local and international with different charges.

-In Unilag, you apply on the school website, pay through Remita. But the charges varies based on the continent (international schools). You will be notified through your email.

For UNIUYO, you can apply through their website directly or in person. In both cases, you pay for the transcript and the mailing (roughly 10,000 naira).

– For DELSU, you process it through the exams and records office. After paying a token at the bank, you convert the teller to receipt and use the receipt to apply for the transcript. You can pay for swift delivery as well. You will get it in less than a week.

– For uniport: transcript payment receipt, photocopies of convocation gown receipt – application letter, generated by the school – document from requesting body – and several other documents.

– In UNN you don’t need to go the school. Apply through their portal and pay using Remita, then choose a courier of your choice (DHL, FEDEX, EMS). It will reach 7days to 3weeks. N15000 for local destination, N35000 for foreign destination. 

They have online customer service that chats with you incase you have challenges and also a functional phone number. very simple and stress free.

But sometimes it may take some time, in that case just visit exams and records in UNN.

The process for getting transcripts from other schools are similar, just visit exams and records or an equivalent section, tell them you want to get your transcript.

Hint : When asking for your transcript it is best to get it in a  hardcopy instead of the softcopy. Just pay the person in charge he will give it to you. This way you wont have to pass thrugh the stress again.

Alternatively you can use  ETX, a third party organization that can get and send your transcript for you, in some schools you can get your academic transcript  in less than a week.
Schools like OAU is even faster, when you use ETX, but their services are not free.
